I would start by adding a pergola, this not only helps define the dining area but also provides shade which is great since theres not many trees nearby.
Adding outdoor area rugs will anchor the spaces while adding color and texture and also protecting the deck from getting super hot. I always recommend adding string lights. I think it adds a lot of ambiance and character to the space. I’ve tried doing the potted posts and they do not work great, so instead I would recommend getting a kit to attach the lights directly to the deck or railing posts. I will link a couple options for you in the shop section below.
Whenever you’re choosing outdoor furniture, you want to make sure to go with something either wicker or metal with weather-proof fabric just so you can preserve the integrity of the pieces. I have a few blog posts sharing my fav retailers for outdoor furniture, I’ll put them below for you to look at!
To finish the space, adding lots of potted plants, throw pillows and blankets, and various wood tones will add a lot of texture and warmth to the space.
