Looking at this room, it has a very traditional, boring bedroom setup. The first thing that every bedroom needs is a bigger headboard. To make your bedding look elevated and luxurious, you want to focus on layering. So the headboard should be the largest, then a row of large pillows, then throw pillows, and finally a textured blanket at the foot of the bed.
To add interest to the walls, I would do a wall treatment or some kind of artwork on the wall. When you have a plain, blank wall with no headboard or color it feels very cold and uninviting. I would do a moody accent wall to add some contrast with the upholstered headboard. The vertical shiplap draws your eye upwards and makes the room feel more grand, and capping the wall treatment with trim and a ledge gives you the opportunity to add extra pictures and decor. Doing a half wall treatment like this gives you a lot of versatility with the wall space above, you can add wallpaper, change the wall color, or add artwork to make the room feel like a brand new space.
Adding more modern furniture and light fixture really elevates the space and makes it feel updated and inviting. The dark wood furniture plays well off of the moody paint color and the gold accents in the light fixtures adds warmth and balance to the space. As always, I recommend adding plants and an area rug to your space for extra texture and color.
