It’s here! The full reveal of the dining room including links to all of my furniture, decor, and step by step tutorials! I found myself getting discouraged in this project because of the whole wallpaper removal saga, but now that it’s finished it was so worth it. If you missed any of it, catch up here!

Since this room flows off of the kitchen, I wanted a pattern that complimented the kitchen cabinet color and wallpaper in the breakfast nook. I ordered a few samples from Sandberg Wallpaper, and once I saw the Emrick pattern sample in the room I knew it was the perfect fit! I love how the pattern compliments the breakfast nook and the sage color brings some color into the space while still being neutral and cozy. The wallpaper added so much warmth and dimension to the space, I’m obsessed!

Originally, I thought this was going to be a quick and easy project, but the old wallpaper had other plans. At first I tried scoring the wallpaper and dousing it with wallpaper remover. Then, when that failed, I ordered a wallpaper steamer and that didn’t really work either. I was left with a ton of glue residue and drywall damage that would’ve taken forever to fix. Y’all– I was literally about to start tearing down the drywall. Then, I was at Home Depot to purchase the beadboard paneling, when I spotted the hardboard paneling and it gave me the idea to just cover all the damage! So much easier than repairing or replacing the drywall and it gave me a perfectly smooth surface to hang the wallpaper!

Once the paneling was up, it was time to paint! I used Sherwin William’s Jogging Path and I think it is the perfect color for the space. I used this color in Jordan’s nursery, and loved it. It’s the perfect warm grey color with green undertones. I love how it changes with the different light throughout the day and the sage green background of the wallpaper really highlights the green undertones in the paint. You can read more about how to paint oak trim and pick the perfect paint sheen in the blog posts linked below!

After the paint was finished, I put up the wallpaper and added a chair rail to cover the seam between the beadboard and wallpaper. To finish the space, I added a gorgeous gold chandelier to the center of the room, hung up some curtains to highlight the windows, and moved my furniture back in. I’m obsessed with the way this room turned out. It’s the neutral, bright, and airy dining room of my dreams!
