2025 Highlights | A Recap of This Year’s Projects & Achievements

post featured image

This year I accomplished a lot more than just DIY projects! It was such a year of growth for Come Stay Awhile and I am so excited for what’s to come in 2026!

Laundry Room Makeover

I worked on this project for 2 months and I am obsessed with how this turned out!! I cannot believe this is the same room 🤯 I’m soo glad I decided to take out the closet. We gained square footage and the room feels so much bigger now without sacrificing any storage. Tap here to read the in-depth breakdown of my laundry room makeover including links to shop the space and helpful DIY tutorials!

Mudroom Makeover

This room has officially left 1990 and entered 2025… and DAMN SHE LOOKS GOOD 😉 When most people enter our house, they come through the side door and enter into this mudroom. I feel like for so long, it hasn’t been an accurate representation of all the work I’ve done in all the other areas of our home. I wanted the first thing that people to see to feel the same as the other rooms that I’ve already poured so much love into. I wanted to keep the design simple, but my hope is that it would feel inviting and cozy. Tap here to shop the design + read relevant tips and tutorials!

DIY Treehouse

This project nearly broke the internet. Haters will say I hired it out, but the truth is I worked from April through August to build this DIY treehouse for my boys and I could not be more proud! There were so many challenging aspects of this project, I learned SO much through trial & error. If you would’ve told the girl in 2020 who had never picked up a power tool before, that 5 years later she’d be building a whole treehouse?!!?! INSANE! There’s way too many parts to this project to break it all down here, so if you want to dive in deeper and get all the details of the treehouse build, tap here.

Wig Fairy Giveaway

I teamed up with @thewigfairy to gift one of my followers a trip to Michigan for a custom fitted wig. It was so hard choosing just one winner out of so many deserving people. We chose Ashley because she has been through so much. She’s a mom of three, a teacher, and battling a brain tumor that has debilitated her in ways we cannot imagine. She first discovered she had a tumor after a series of bad headaches and a sports injury forced her to go to the hospital. The doctors operated to remove the tumor, then ten months later, a second tumor was discovered leaving Ashley to face another major surgery and a lot of unknowns. Despite everything, she perseveres with a smile on her face and the most contagious laugh. Spending the day with Ashley and her friend was so magical, I feel so blessed to be a part of her story in a small way.

Come Stay Awhile x Wall Blush Wallpaper Collection

I am so excited about this collection and have loved seeing it in your homes! It’s truly a dream come true. Wall Blush was one of the first peel and stick wallpapers I used in our rental house when Come Stay Awhile got started so this feels like a full circle moment being able to have my own collection with them six years later.

All of the prints and color options come in three different wallpaper types. We have a peel and stick, luxe peel and stick and luxe traditional! It was important to me that we were able to offer all of the designs in a variety of install types and price points! Shop the collection here!

Fun Friday with Kayla (@itshoneydone)

To try something new and hopefully bring a smile to your face, Kayla and I teamed up to bring you silly, lighthearted videos every other Friday this year! We’ve had so much fun with this series and it has been a great reminder to not take everything so seriously. From 90s nostalgia to hilarious challenges, tap the images below to rewatch some of our most viewed shenanigans!

Trash Can Pavers

I’ve hated for three years that we didn’t have a dedicated spot for our trash cans and in just one day I was able to come up with a solution. Why do we always put off the things that really don’t even take that much time!? It only took me 6 hours to finish this whole project! Tap here to shop the supplies!

AJ’s Big Kid Bedroom Makeover

Finally… a big kid room makeover for my hockey loving big kid. ❤️🏒 I’m obsessed with the red stripe wallpaper — it’s the Andrew stripe from my CSA collection with Wall Blush. Truly the easiest wallpaper ever to install! This is the luxe peel and stick and took me about an hour to put up. I added some peel and stick hat hooks and got all his favorite @detroitredwings memorabilia up on the wall. Tap here to shop!

Vacations

So grateful we got to take a few trips this year and spend real, quality time with friends. February was a girls’ trip to California, March was Turks & Caicos for our 10-year anniversary, and in September we escaped to Mexico for a couples’ retreat with friends from the app. Unplugging was a major goal of mine this year, and these trips were exactly what my heart needed.

Operation: Nostalgic 90s Christmas

As a retired sad beige mom, I’m using this holiday season to show my kids what a nostalgic 90s Christmas feels like! I’m talking bright colors, tacky decor, and activities that truly spark joy. We only get one shot to make our kids’ childhood feel magical, so this year I’m pulling out all the stops!
