This was a fun week for us! We got to spend Christmas in Vero Beach, FL with TJ’s family. This week I was HUNGRY. ALL. THE. TIME. I think several days I had breakfast 3 times, whoops. I felt like Pam and Kevin in The Office when they have second lunch and first dinner. I also had more “morning sickness” than I have in the past. Several nauseous moments won the battle. I also started to not feel so great on Friday so I decided to just take it easy and try and rest. Overall, we had a great holiday week spent with TJ’s family.
This was BY FAR my hardest week pregnant so far. We made it back from Florida (thankfully, I wasn’t sure I was gonna be able to get on the flight) I became SO sick, SO fast. When we got home we decided to go to the urgent care so I could get some meds to kick whatever I had… turns out I had Influenza B which turned into a sinus infection which turned into eye infections in both of my eyes… cool. I can honestly say I don’t think I have ever been as sick as I was this week in my life. Sinus headache, sinus pressure like I’ve never experienced, severe congestion, chills, sore throat, cough… you name it. Add all of that on top of my new nausea pregnancy symptoms. ROUGH TIMES MY FRIENDS. Still as I type this I don’t feel back to my normal self. Pink eye in full force but as least my congestion is starting to break a little bit so I can get some sleep. I was given tamiflu and an antibiotic but for some reason my body is struggling hard to kick this infection. Hoping there is relief in the coming days.
Sweet thing you are in for a BIG surprise when you meet your daddy. He is going to be amazing with you. This past week being in Florida with all of our nieces and nephews and watching him love on them has been so fun to see. We cannot wait to be the best parents to you. Your dad has taken the best care of me this week while being sick. I think he has been to rite aid every day getting me something different (do they have punch cards? LOL) and he even woke up at 2 in the morning to go to Meijer to get me some throat numbing spray so I could sleep and kept up with the housework while I was down for the count. He truly will do anything for the people he cares about and I can’t wait for you to meet him just as much as we can’t wait to meet you.
This week was pretty uneventful. I have been feeling pretty good and have been getting much better sleep than I did last week. At church this week I had a little bit of a surreal moment. The song we were singing said “… you were perfectly made in your mother’s womb” For some reason, that really hit me. I have a perfect little person crafted by God himself growing inside my belly and it’s our job to raise him/her to be a sweet loving person who loves Jesus. Talk about pressure. God never intended us to live with hurt, anger, pain, sin… and when we are born, we are thrown right into the mess. As parents, it is our job that we teach our child about God and the importance of faith. This week that hit me hard and not only started to overwhelm me but made me excited for the challenge. Love you so much already little one.
This week I have been SO HUNGRY. I can tell the baby is starting to grow. I have now gained about 4 lbs and I can tell my stomach is starting to round out although I still wouldn’t say I’ve “popped”. This week I have been having lots of cravings. Mostly fruit. Cuties, strawberries, yogurt and apple juice have my heart this week. I am so ready for the bump. I keep seeing cute maternity clothes and I am sad I can’t wear them yet. I guess I should be glad because once it starts growing I know it gets pretty big, pretty quickly. We find out babies gender next week and I am SO EXCITED!!! I can’t wait to see the baby again at our ultrasound. It was moving around so much at 13 weeks, I can’t wait to see it at 18 weeks! EEEKK!! We also started our house hunting process this week, which is pretty fun. Trying to pick out our first home that we will bring our first baby home to is pretty crazy!
Cravings: ALL THE FRUIT, mexican food
This week has been great. I went with TJ to a spin class at the gym and when I looked down I noticed a bump sticking out! Baby had a growth spurt this week it seems like! On Wednesday, we had our anatomy ultrasound and it was so fun to see the baby again. It’s moving around so much in there! We got quite a few pictures of baby’s little hands and feet. He/she LOVES putting their hands up by their head. They said that every looks great! My placenta is in the front of the baby so she said it might take a couple more weeks before I really start feeling the kicks. This week is also huge because we get to find out the gender!! Boy/girl was sealed in an envelope after our appointment and we will be doing a gender reveal with our families on Sunday. EEEKKKK!!!
Cravings: I’ve started really liking side salads which is NOT like me at all
This week was one I will never forget. We found out that you are a little boy! Click here to read about our gender reveal party. It feels so crazy to know that we are going to have a son! This was a big week for your dad and I… we found out your dad passed his boards for vet school, we found out you are a sweet little boy AND we bought a house. It is so exciting that everything is falling into place and we couldn’t be more excited that we found our first home that we will bring you home in. We are still working on your name… we want it to be perfect just like you!
We are currently down in Vero Beach on a little “baby moon”. We wanted to getaway one last time and enjoy one last trip just your dad and I before we become a family of 3 in a few short months. We cannot wait to meet you! This week you almost doubled in size and I’m finally starting to look like I have a little guy in my belly. You also have been moving around like crazy in there! Mostly after I eat, when I lay down or at night when I’m trying to sleep. I love feeling the little pitter patter of your feet. Your dad was also able to feel your kicks this week which was a pretty cool thing!
Cravings: Scampi Grill – shrimp scampi and the creamy caesar salad
Baby boy you were on the MOVE this week. I am starting to learn your patterns. You love food (just like your mama) and you seem to like to kick me at night when I am snuggling the dogs on the couch or trying to fall asleep. As my tummy grows and I feel your movement… it makes it feel so much more real. I can’t even describe how much we already love you. It feels like you won’t be here soon enough! This week you are almost 1lb and are supposed to be rapidly growing and squirming as the weeks go on. I spent some time this week organizing all the items we have from you that were gifted from family and friends and holy crap you’ve got a lot of stuff! We also finished your registry for the baby showers and I can’t wait to start collecting the items we will use for you when you arrive in this world. Love you baby boy!
Hi little mister! I can’t believe how big you are getting. My stomach is definitely starting to become noticeably pregnant. This week I got a lot of your clothes and baby stuff organized into some bins preparing for the move! We are supposed to get the house the first week of April and I can’t wait to get all your stuff set up in your little room! I got to go shopping with your Grandma Leslee (Gigi) this week and we found some really cute stuff for you!! I can’t wait to hold you and see your sweet face. Right now I am visiting your dad in Columbus while he is on his radiology rotation. You are becoming quite the little traveler and you haven’t even gotten here yet! You have been kicking me a lot lately and they seem to be getting stronger by the day. Anytime anyone else tries to feel tho you get shy! On my drive to Columbus I put on a playlist called Mother/Son on Spotify and boy was that a bad idea. I balled my eyes out for about 30 minutes just thinking about you and all the sweet memories to come. Only a few short months till we meet, sweet thing!
Symptoms: Blurred vision, migraines, swollen fingers at night where my ring gets too tight, no longer it in my pre-pregnancy jeans
Cravings: Blueberry muffins, sweet tea
Little boy! You are growing like a weed! I swear my stomach gets bigger by the day. I feel like my belly button is about to pop out. It’s a strange feeling. I had a doctors appointment this week and we got to hear your little heart beat and you were kicking quite a bit while she was checking it. I CANNOT wait to meet you and see your face. Will you have hair? Will you have your dads blue eyes? Will you be teeny tiny like your mom was when she was born? Tomorrow we have our final walk through at the new house and in about a month we will have our new home! I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am to get the house all ready for you and start our new life there with you in it. Your dad and I keep talking about all the places we want to go and the things we want to do with you once you arrive. Get ready for some adventures little man! I had fun exploring Columbus with your dad this week. We walked all around downtown and ate lots of good food. You were certainly a fan of the ricotta pancakes at North Star. So much in fact… we went two days in a row for breakfast! (They were so good!)
Symptoms: Blurred vision, a few migraines, lower back aches when I walk around for too long
Cravings: haven’t had too many cravings this week… still loving blueberry muffins
Baby boy has been growing like a weed! I feel like I need at least 3 more inches of skin by the time I go to bed at night. I can feel him moving all the time which is so exciting and a pretty surreal feeling. I can’t wait to meet him and see his sweet face. We closed on our house today so we are officially homeowners!! I can’t wait to get moved in and unpacked and getting everything ready for our little one. I’ve started having some back pain and I get up in the middle of the night to pee about 100 times it seems like. Heartburn has also started after I eat which isn’t very fun. Overall though, things have been pretty smooth!
Symptoms: heartburn, lower back pain, belly button starting to change
It’s crazy how much can change in just a couple weeks. 4-5 weeks ago I still wasn’t showing much and now that baby boy has made his appearance he is growing like crazy. It is a little frightening to think I still have 14 more weeks left for him to grow… I don’t know how my stomach can get much bigger… but I know it will. Then to think that this baby has to come out somehow. I am trying to just avoid thinking about that part LOL Baby has been moving and groovin’ and kicking more consistently now and developing some strength. I have been having some indigestion and bad heartburn the last week. I’ve always had some acid reflux issues but for some reason baby boy is making it much worse right now. Tums to the rescue!
We had a little “incident” this week with my belly button. We were playing with Diesel (our dog) and he accidentally jumped on my stomach and his nail caught the hole from my belly button ring. It’s healing pretty quickly but it definitely was not fun at the time. Lol
Cravings: everything under the sun… if it’s in front of me, I will eat it LOL
Symptoms: heartburn, active baby kicks, tight stomach at night, indigestion, swollen fingers
This was a tough week for your dad and I. Sweet Aunt Sherri went to be with Jesus. She would of been like a second grandma to you, baby boy, and our hearts hurt with the thought that she will never get the chance to meet you. Her memory will live on though and we are so excited to share her Beaverton cottage with you. We know that you will be a boating baby and we are excited for all of the memories to come. I feel like you are running out of room in mommy’s tummy and it’s a little freaky. There was a few nights this week that I couldn’t get comfortable and felt like my stomach had reached it’s max capacity. It’s pretty wild to think we still have almost 3 more months for you to keep growing. We can see your kicks from the outside now which is so exciting and fun! I am dying to see your sweet face and give you all the snuggles inflatable obstacle course.
Symptoms: tight stomach, insane charlie horses in my calfs at night when I am trying to sleep, your dad says I started snoring this week (we don’t believe him)
Other stuff: COVID-19 is officially in full swing and tons of businesses are shutting down to prevent the spread of the virus. We aren’t sure the affect it has on pregnant women so we decided to postpone one of your baby showers that was supposed to happen tomorrow. Restaurants are closed which seems wild but totally understandable. We have never experienced anything like this outbreak in our lifetime.
This week was full of ups and downs. I originally was supposed to have my first baby shower for baby boy but unfortunately we had to postpone due to COVID-19. It feels like such a crazy time in this world right now. Not able to be out and about, not able to teach dance, not able to go to restaurants or the store. I am so ready for all of this to end and be back to normal. We did though have a super high, high this week. We got to see a 4D version of our baby boy and I can’t wait to squeeze him!! His little lips are so pouty and he’s got squishable cheeks. I cannot wait to meet him. We have 99.9% decided on a name but we are going to wait to announce until he is born.
My feet have been KILLING me this week. If I am on them for more than 20 minutes or so my heels get SO sore. I’ve started wearing some sandals around the house for extra comfort. With all of the coronavirus stuff, we have been trying to get out and go on more walks with the dogs… but part of the deal is I need a foot rub when we get back. Baby boy has been SO active this week and its fun to know he’s getting bigger in there. We should get the keys to our new house in the next couple weeks so we have officially started packing up everything in preparation for the move!
Cravings: healthy cookie dough bites
Symptoms: sore feet, charlie horses in my calves at night
