Spruce My Space: How to Create an Inviting Dining Room

post featured image

We all want our dining room to feel cozy and inviting, especially if you’re somebody who likes to host. This week I am sharing how I would optimize this space to provide more seating and add decor that feels welcoming!

Before & After: Virtual Rendering

When looking at a room, it’s important to consider its shape and then choose furniture that fits accordingly. Since this room is rectangular, I would choose a large rectangular table to fill the space and provide more seating. In the original photo, the curtains compliment the windows nicely, I would just hang them a little bit higher to help bring height to the room and make the window feel larger. To create depth in this room, I would paint the wall an earthy green and add artwork to help draw the eye deeper into the room. Adding a buffet cabinet brings additional wood tones and warmth into the space while also providing additional storage. An updated light fixture and area rug help make the table the centerpiece of the room. Lastly, adding plants to the space helps tie the color palette together while adding life and texture to the space. With these few easy updates, the room now feels cozy and inviting– perfect for hosting holiday gatherings!
