Here is your guide to building the perfect Easter baskets for your little ones! Ideas for baskets, stuffers, gift ideas for toddlers & babies, and more!
Easter is definitely at the top of my favorite holiday list! Who doesn’t love chocolate bunnies and celebrating Jesus?! This Easter is extra special because it’s Jordan’s very first one! Eek, my baby is growing up too fast, and I’m not ready! Right now, I’m putting together their Easter baskets and wanted to share some fun ideas for you! Instead of loading up on just sweets (per AJ’s request), I’ve decided to include some fun games and other fun things that my kids love to put a smile on their faces on Easter morning. AJ is OBSESSED with the Detroit Red Wings right now so pretty much anything with that winged wheel on it makes his whole day. I love making the holidays special for the boys with traditions and creating memories with them that they will cherish forever. What are your guys’ favorite Easter traditions? I’m always looking for more ways to keep the spirit alive for the boys!
The Charm of the Traditional Wicker Basket
This year, I decided to go the traditional route for AJ and Jordan’s Easter baskets. I’ve always had a soft spot for classic wicker baskets—they remind me of my own childhood Easter mornings. So, I chose these adorable wicker baskets from Walmart that come with a removable liner. Not only do they capture that timeless Easter feeling, but they’re also incredibly versatile and can be repurposed throughout the year. Imagine turning them into a cozy nook for books or toys, or even using them for a picnic when the weather warms up. Plus, the removable liner means we can easily wash it or swap it out for a different look, making these baskets a sustainable choice for many Easters (and adventures!) to come.
Easter is a special time in our household; it’s about more than just the baskets and goodies; it’s about creating memories that AJ and Jordan will remember forever. So, let’s dive into what I’m putting into their baskets this year.
Detroit Red Wings Pennant: To cheer on our favorite team and add a little team spirit to the mix. Also, he is certain he will someday be on the Red Wings and I’m all about cheering him on!
Detroit Red Wings NHL Matching Game: Perfect for some fun family game time and boosting those little memory skills.
In the Image of God Book: A sweet addition to bedtime reading, filling our night with meaningful stories.
Paw Patrol Stickers: Because every adventure is better with the Paw Patrol crew 😆 (IYKYK).
Peeps: Classic Easter staple, am I right?
Bubble Wand: For all those hot summer days, we love bubbles in this house.
Resurrection Eggs: A meaningful way to share the Easter story and its significance.
Sweetarts Jelly Beans: AJ’s fav! Candy is a necessity.
Jesus Loves Me 5-Button Songbook: Because what’s Easter without a little joyful noise and Jesus!
White Easter Grass: I love using grass as the base for my baskets, it serves as a nice cushion for all the gifts!
Detroit Redwings Baby Sensory Crinkle Toy: For those tiny hands to explore textures and sounds.
NHL Detroit Red Wings Pacifiers: Combining practicality with a dash of team pride- need I say more! (Go Wings!)
Bunny Sensory Crinkle Toy: More sensory fun to keep those curious little fingers busy.
Stuffed Bunny: A cuddly little guy for Jordan to hug and hold.
Bunny Teether: Perfect for teething with a touch of Easter!
“God Gave Us Easter” Book: A book that introduces the meaning of Easter in a way that’s easy for little ones to understand.
My First Prayer Book: An introduction to prayers for Jordan.
Bunny Touch and Feel Book: The best little book with various textures for little ones to explore.
White Easter Grass: Just like Big Brother’s, because matching is too cute. They may not like matching so much later, so I’m taking advantage of this while I can.

Assembling the Perfect Easter Basket: Tips & Tricks
Sometimes, putting a basket together or picking out items can feel a bit daunting, so I thought I’d share a little “how-to” guide to make things easier for you all!
Think Outside the Basket: Who says it has to be a basket? A toy truck for the boys to fill, a treasure chest, or even a cute umbrella can be a fun twist.
Layers of Fun: Start with the grass to cushion your gifts and add a pop of color! Then arrange larger items in the back (books, bubble wands, etc.) and smaller ones in front. It’s all about creating a visual treat for your kiddos!
Variety is Key: Aim for a mix of toys, books, crafts, and maybe a few treats. It’s about balancing fun, learning, and yumminess.
Make It Personal: For Jordan’s first Easter, adding something handmade or with his name on it makes it extra special.
Keep it Balanced: A mix of fun, educational, and practical items ensures the basket is both exciting and useful.
