You guys 😭😭😭 I did it… I built a mantel AND scribed it around our fireplace stones

This project absolutely took years off my life but I’m so glad I persevered! 😂 now I can finally hang the Christmas garland I’ve always dreamed of. This fireplace is too much of a statement in our home to not have one!

Thanks for encouraging me along the way… DIY is all about learning from our mistakes. It takes practice and patience and the song says… if at first you don’t succeed, dust yourself off and try again (one or 200x) 😂💪🏼 NOW WE DECORATE!!

OPERATION CHRISTMAS MANTEL IS A GO 🎄🫣 do you think I can pull this off?

Have I done this before? No. Do I know what I’m doing? Absolutely not 😂 but I’m determined to hang Christmas garland on a mantel DANG IT. Why have this gorgeous fireplace with no mantel?!

The tricky part is my stones all stick out at different depths so I have to get a little creative. I’m going to attempt to scribe the contour of the stones for a perfect fit. Will it work? Follow along @comestayawhile to see 😍
