DIY TREEHOUSE PART 2: Amanda vs The Auger 🤡

Today was… chaos 🫨 but I am building a treehouse dammit if it’s the last thing I do (literally ☠️) I have a solid plan and ya know what else is solid? THE FREAKING GROUND. It’s filled with roots and rocks that no one told me would be so hard to dig post holes in. Basically was on the phone with Molly @thehonesthome_ (she’s building a treehouse right now too! How fun!) all day because she’s having the same issue! 😂

Follow along @comestayawhile and buckle up… it’s about to be a fun ride! I can’t wait to step back and look at my finished treehouse and be like remember when we tried to dig those post holes? ☠️ See ya tomorrow. Auger might have won round 1… but I’m winning round 2. 💪🏼

No clue what I’m doing… but we’re doing it anyway. 🤣 Good news… the boss (my 4 year old) approved the plans and we are GOOD TO GOOO!

✨ MUDROOM REVEAL ✨ This room has officially left 1990 and entered 2025… and DAMN SHE LOOKS GOOD 😉

When most people enter our house, they come through the side door and enter into this mudroom. I feel like for so long. It hasn’t been an accurate representation of all the work I’ve done in all the other areas of our home and so I wanted the first thing that people to see to feel the same as the other rooms that I’ve already poured so much love into.

I wanted to keep the design simple, but my hope is that it would feel inviting and cozy, and that the vintage style wallpaper and bead board paneling would still keep our homes, character and charm.

What do you guys think?! I think I wanna put something on the wall next to the laundry room door… But it’s technically behind the side door that you come in. Would it be weird to have something on that wall if the door were open? I can’t decide…
