It’s a beautiful winter out there this year. Chilly for sure, but the weather has been mild overall, and it’s a great time to get out and about and enjoy some new things! This winter there are some great exhibits and showings happening that we wanted to mention for something you can do with friends, family or out and about between sales shopping.
First Saturday Art Crawl, This Saturday
Downtown this Saturday, come visit the 20+ venues participating in this illustrious affair. From 6-9pm at various locations (including The Arts Company, The Rymer Gallery, and Tinney Contemporary) you can see of Nashville’s great up and coming and established artists on display. There will be free booze, some things to eat, and definitely some mingling and art talk.
Frist Center for the Visual Arts
Their current exhibits include: World War I and American Art, Extrasensory, and Nick Cave: Feat.. They are also about to start up their Jazz series in the auditorium, so every month on a Sunday you can come down to the Frist and enjoy some spectacular jazz! OZ Arts Nashville
This is a unique space to Nashville that has popped in just the last few years. They present innovative contemporary artwork, shows and live events, and their modern, flexible performance space enables artists of multiple disciplines to present brave new art in a non-traditional context. Arts & Music at Wedgewood/Houston
Southeast of Downtown Nashville is the neighborhood Wedgewood/Houston. Various galleries and venues host an art crawl they call “Arts & Music”. Their are dozens of participating venues, commercial galleries, artist-run studios, and co-working spaces exhibiting groundbreaking art and music. The next date of Arts & Music will be January 6, 2018.
