School is back in session for most at this point, so people’s plates are starting to fill up. This makes for shorter lines for some of the fun things parents and other adults can get into this time of year while it’s still warm out. But while it’s still warm out, there are a couple things parents and kids can still do before the seasons change!
This is Nashville’s water park! Full of fun rides, slides, and the lines are definitely a little shorter this time of year. They have day passes, group rates, season passes… all the ways to pay you can expect, plus a “buy now, pay later” option.
The Treetop Adventure Park is a course that is set in the woods within the Nashville Shores Lakeside Resort. This park features ziplines, ropes courses, suspended bridges and more! It’s perfect for a big crew that might want to try something a little more daring. It’s also good to note that this park is located so close to Nashville Shores Water Park, so if you have a larger group and some people are looking for something a little different – this is a good way to have two options at one time!
With new activities all the time, and plenty of exotic creatures to learn about, the Nashville Zoo at Grassmere is a great spot for couples, families, and singles that want to get out and visit one of Nashville’s prime attractions. For those interested, they even have camps, photography classes, and youth programs! Be sure to check out all the attractions the Zoo has to offer, including the Wilderness Express, carousel, and the Soaring Eagle Zipline.
Movies at the Park, and Tomato Art Fest
As the weather is starting to level out, and the temperatures aren’t racing so high, there are other day long events, and evening events that are perfect for a date night, family fun, or just something new to do with your friends. This summer and fall in East Nashville there are two big events that are happening that you must know about!
Tomato Art Fest happens this Friday and Saturday (August 12 and 13) in the 5 points area of East Nashville. It’s full of vendors selling arts, crafts, commodities, and yes, tomatoes! There will also be live music, food, and drinks. The area is one of Nashville’s most up and coming, and this festival will take you down a few blocks of one of the more attractive spots to visit, and get to know. You won’t want to miss this event!
Another fun event that is happening now through October, is the Shelby Park Picture Show. This movies at the park experience features food trucks, concessions, and a beer garden, hosted at a 100 year old baseball complex in Shelby Park and Bottoms. But it’s not your normal “movie at the park”! It’s hosted in the outfield of Field 2, which is a World Series class baseball field in the park, and the movie is played on a 14×24’ high resolution LED screen! It’s a great event for anyone that’s a movie fan! See a full calendar, purchase tickets, and find out more at shelbyparkpictureshow.com!
