The heat in the summer can be oppressive, especially here in the heart of the city of Nashville. As such, it can keep even the most active people indoors when they’d rather be outside enjoying the sunshine. Sometimes we just need a little bit of motivation to get out of the house, something fun to do that can make us forget all about the rising temperatures. Lucky for us Nashvillians, there are a plethora of summer festivals coming up that are sure to get even the most homebound out and about and having a good time.
There’s finally another chance to break out that tacky Christmas sweater and Santa hat that’s been collecting dust since the past holiday. Celebrate Christmas in July with the Half Christmas Beer Fest on July 20th. With snow machines, holiday lights, reindeer games, and more, this summer holiday event is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit even with the temperatures soaring outside.
The best part of summer festivals is always the food, and Burger Week makes food the focus of our first festival. From July 16th through the 22nd, you can take the whole family to enjoy the best burgers Nashville has to offer. Restaurants like Decker & Dyer, The Nashville Jam Co., Jack Brown’s Beer & Burger Joint, and so many more will be showcasing their best burgers for an insanely low price of just $5 a piece!
While Burger Week is perfect for families of all ages, the Music City Brewers Festival on July 28th is obviously for the 21 and up crowd. In addition to sampling beers offered by over 40 local, regional, national, and imported breweries, those that attend this festival will also be treated to a pretty impressive entertainment lineup as well. From live music, fire and belly dancers, to hula hoop contests, and even dodgeball, this is a festival you simply cannot miss!
Now, we’ll be the first to admit that the last thing we think of when we hear the word tomato is “art”. However, we are convinced you will come away from the Tomato Art Fest on August 10th and 11th with a new affinity for all things tomato. This event is for all ages and offers everything from art to music, from shopping to costumes, and from kid’s activities to costumes. There is truly an event for everyone and will instill in you a new respect for that succulent red fruit (or vegetable, depending on who you ask!).
We’re going to round things out with a mix of two of the best parts of summer: food and wine. From September 14th through the 16th, some of the top chefs, wine, spirit, and beer crafters in the country will descend upon Nashville for cooking demos, Q&A panels, tastings, and more. There are several different events going on during the festival that you can buy single tickets for, but we recommend going with the All-In Ticket so you can indulge in everything the Music City Food + Wine Festival has to offer.
As always, if we can help you find activities while you’re staying with us here in Nashville, just give us a call. We’re here for you!
